“I spent 20 years behind a desk, building a successful insurance business. It was very difficult to find time to exercise because of the demands of the business and spending what free time I had with my husband and three children. From sitting at a desk , my body was becoming stiff, and I lost my muscle tone. I sold the insurance agency and ended my insurance career in 2001. I spent the next two years at home, with my family and began an education journey into the world of wellness and fitness. I opened my first fitness studio in 2003.
Because of my experience from sitting at a desk for so many years, I have a passion around helping working people fit exercise into their daily lives. This is one of the driving forces behind the workstation workout. Just a few minutes a day will improve your fitness level. By purchasing a Work Station Workout and taking fit-breaks at your desk, no longer can you say “I don’t have time to exercise”.

Ray Clarke
Ray Clarke is also a founder of Bodywatts, LLC and was instrumental in developing and fabricating the prototypes that resulted in the US patent for the Workstation Workout Kit and the patent pending status of the new handle attachments. Ray is a Maryland registered professional engineer currently employed by a local government as the County Engineer with his primary responsibility being to direct and manage the Department of Public Works.
Ray has been engaged in fitness activities all his life that includes running, weight-lifting, swimming, sailing, rock climbing, and racket sports. He is also an avid racquetball player and not too bad on the tennis court. Ray received his MS in Environmental Engineering in 2000 from the University of Maryland at College Park and received his BS in Metallurgical Engineering in 1986 from the University of Texas at El Paso.
Ray is actively involved in innovative projects and programs that improve and enhance the water quality of tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed and applies his innovative thinking to creating new fitness products. In becoming the County Engineer, Ray has managed the replacement of over 70% of the county-owned bridges, the construction of advanced wastewater treatment systems for the largest county-owned sewer system, developed a program to reduce nitrogen from septic systems, and initiated various road improvement projects.
Ray also created the decentralized fish sanctuaries project that uses county-owned aerators on private piers to provide oxygen to aquatic life during episodic periods of anoxic conditions in local rivers and streams, and is working to add a liquid oxygen facility to supersaturate the effluent from the wastewater treatment from 5-6 mg/l to 45 mg/l during the summer months to improve water quality of the Miles River. Prior to 2000, he was a senior engineer for Maryland Environmental Service, and he played racquetball nearly every weekday at a local racquetball club.
As an engineer, Ray understands the mechanisms to developing an idea and then using existing materials to create a tangible product. He also knows the value exercising regularly and maintaining a proper diet to help managing his stress and controlling his blood pressure and cholesterol.
